KoM & QoM Segment

The Challenge route includes a King & Queen of the Mountains hill climb challenge at Haytor (24 miles in to the route), sponsored by Primal Europe. The Segment starts on the outskirts of Bovey Tracey and ascends 1,200 ft over a distance of 3.6 miles to the summit. The average gradient is 6% with a maximum gradient of 14%. All who complete this hill climb challenge within the qualifying time for their gender will receive one of our prestigious KoM or QoM Pin Badges. Additionally, 12 lucky riders, selected at random, will win a fantastic Primal Helix 2 cycle jersey. These jerseys, in our own unique KoM / QoM design, will also be available to purchased at the finish by anyone who qualifies.

Qualifying times are set at 26 minutes for men and 32 minutes for women. These times are calculated against the official Moor 2 Sea Sportive Haytor segment on STRAVA, with those qualifying being placed within the top 40% of all-time achievements for their gender.

Haytor has been used many times in the Devon Stage of the Tour of Britain and is features in Britain's 100 Greatest Cycling Climbs.

We are unable to guarantee that the normal range of foods provided at our feed stations will be free from allergens such as eggs, nuts, gluten, lactose, wheat, crustations, fish, soya, celery, etc. Some of our foods will be packaged and will have their ingredient clearly identified on the wrapper. We will have a 'free from' food box available at each feed station with a small selection of allergen free products but we are unable to cater for individual special dietary requirements. If you have a special diet we recommend that you bring your own food supply with you.
