Challenge Route

The Moor2Sea Challenge Route starts and finishes at Exeter Racecourse. It covers a total distance of approximately 65 miles (105 km) with 6600 ft of climbing. The route will include a 'King of the Mountains' style hill climb stage at Haytor (28 mile point). There is an additional award given for completing the KoM challenge within the designated time. This is the same iconic climb that has been used three times in the Tour of Britain. It is where the former Mid-Devon Cycling Club member, John Tiernan-Locke secured his KoM victory in 2012 and where the Devon stage secured its place in the cycling history books in 2013, as the fiirst ever hill top finish. The same climb will also be included as the hill top finish again this year on Friday 9th September, a few days after the Moor 2 Sea.
